Any Rennlisters from New Zealand?

Auckland housing market is boring, commonly know as Auckland pornography, it is worse then Christchurch people talking about the Earthquake endlessly at dinner parties....
Now, it can only be a few more weeks until all the ice and grit is off the road so I can get my 993 out for a play ;-) hopefully my leather pieces will be done.

While being as sick as a dog, my weekend project was window shopping for a Cayman GT4 (AKA ‘dreaming’).
The Porsche market is so upside down in AUS/NZ compared to UK/US.
In NZ a GT4 is worth circa $200K and approx. as twice a 996 GT3. On this basis, if you asked everyone on here (me included), you could have either a 12-14 yr old used 6 GT3 or a shiny new GT4 for the same $$ – I think we would all say GT4 please .
The dynamics in the US and UK are different, while hanging on the 996 GT3 sites – the great debate for these 6 GT3 owners is whether to basically straight swap a GT3 for a Cayman GT4? In the UK a well spec’ed GT4 at say $75K (pounds) is the same value is a nice used 6 GT3 and in the US a GT4 is about only $5-10K more than a used 6 GT3. More interesting thing is some who have driven both are saying they wouldn’t do it ?? – must be one eyed??
Just goes to show that US and UK Porsche sites are absolutely no help to real world Porsche problems in NZ?? I wish I could swap my car almost for a GT4
P.s. – Spokes, more 993 p*rn as pennants for house crap sin’s (you need to paint your callipers red - and I need to finish the hard-back seats project)

Drifting
Design 911 has the latter incorrect style and Pelican has the correct style. Small point and I think I might get a few widths that can be shared between the SC and T because they are cheap enough to experiment with. 15's on the SC is appealing.

I do need to paint my callipers red.. on the to do list. The wheel conversations are great as I keep toying with new rims. 17" Fuchs polishes inners and black, or something simliar. Keep the Cup 2s of course.
Not me. GT4 is massively overhyped, people love whatever the latest shiny thing is.

Comparing UK market to NZ is a bit futile. a GT4 there listed at approx. 70k GBP but all sold out. If you want to buy an allocation now would probably cost you 100k. Seems to be the way with all new Porsche GT cars in the UK these days. 6 GT3 60k private. In NZ the GT4 will depreciate from sale not unlike the GT3 & RS before it. horses for courses. If you want a new track toy covered with warranty that will be easy to live with and fun on weekends or as a DD the new car has significant advantages.
Dave. The factory correct wheels are the non staggered lip right?

Was going to say I'm not a fan of 993's on fuch's, but then I found this image and struggle to see any problems at all??

I think My2001 18" lightweight 5 spoke Carrera are the best look on the 993. However they are prone to bend which has put me off to date. I'll never buy soft wheels again (thus no knock offs) it's a royal PITA getting them straightened and NZ roads and curbs are such that it's a perpetual task IMO
