Feel kind of bad missing the last twilight opportunity before winter but too much on at work for the next few weeks. I'm on for the 4th May though.

I now have John's flash drive with all the photos from the Dec day (and there are a LOT of photos on it - all hi Res). If anyone wants me to send it on just send me a PM with address and I'll post to the first person who replies.

Like a Monkey and typewriter keys - that's the theory anyway.

I know of this car - it has had $100K pumped into it and produces about 400-450hp. insanely quick, but very personalised..........whether you like it or not comes down to personal taste........

I think this is where Macca has been very smart, he too has a highly personalised car, but done in a way that all but the concourse brigade would approve of.

That's one hell of a car and I can probably believe 100k has gone into, but as Paul elludes to its still a "bitza" and will always be so (964 shape assume aftermarket parts based on 3.2 chassis etc). I guess the price in part reflects this. It seems tastefully executed. My biggest concern with this as a Track/Targa car would be the supercharger. Im a big fan of the TPC system many have used in the 64 and 93 and have watched a number of threads on these being developed with interest. One thing however is consistent and that is they get VERY hot on the track and require not only an efficient charge cooler but often water/meth spray cooling to operate their best. Im not sure how the owner has addressed thermal load but pushed hard on the track such weaknesses will show themselves. The best result yet on this board with the 3.6 and TPC seems to be around 420 bhp with charge cooling, meth inject, larger pulley and Motec so on the 3.2 I think you would struggle to get over 400 with any reliability. In fact a pole on the 993 board from around 6-7 owners with TPC indicated around 350-360 bhp without additional intercooler etc and around 380-390 with everything set up nicely. Still the cheapest bang for buck HP wise for a road naturally aspirated flat 6 but starts getting quite a bit more costly to use for track due to additional hardware and controllers.

For 35-40k however this would make for alot of fun if its mechanically solid...

These are the 221s right? Same as mine?

I'd say you would get up to 10 full track days out of them if you got them in medium compound at the rear and swapped left to right halfway through their life.

I've had two track days and 6 races out of them and that's in the really hot weather we had.

Each to their own of course and while not all of it I like... I do like that it's different. Who did the work on it is the big question for anyone looking at it surely?

To Macca's point, think Turbo is more reliable way to get the ponies though.

Yep - 221's but in soft like you. I enquired about the mediums but still no word about them coming into NZ. They look OK after day 1 - I was counting on getting 4-5 days out of them and any more would be a bonus.

Peter/Sean. Everything you say about the 221s sounds consistent with what Ive been reading. 6-7 Full track days plus some road mileage on the softs and 9-12 on the mixed compounds if managed well. Having mediums on the back is a good idea but a shame the importer doesnt have these in stock. I assume Sean is using 18" sizes....

I think you might be able to prolong that a little if you swap left to right at half wear as HD, as we all know, only really uses the left tires!

Yes I'm using 265/35/18 rears and 235/40/18 fronts.
