Somebody needs to bring it up at the driver's meeting.
Would be better if they (chief steward) review and decide before the drivers meeting and then proactively inform us during the meeting (just like they do at Watkins Glen for what is required if you go straight at the bus stop).
By deciding ahead of time they can also proactively communicate to the corner workers so they know what is expected and can black flag anyone not following what has been agreed to.

In 2015 the inside paved area in T1 was ruled out of bounds, where you would not have the right of way once you re-entered the track. Same as the exits of T1,T8 and T10 at Watkins Glen. This is different from the Bus Stop at Watkins Glen where you have to come to a full STOP and can only proceed and re-enter at the direction of the flagger.
In 2016 the inside paved area in T1 was not clearly ruled out of bounds so some people decided to use it for passing, which IMHO is just an accident waiting to happen.
