Default 1st track day

I finally brought my car to the track. I chose NASA because I bought a helmet from one of their instructors, and they were having an event close to home in Palmer, MA. What a great group of people! I signed up for HDPE1, they assigned me an instructor who e-mailed me a few days before the event to get me ready and tell me what to bring. I showed up, registered, found a place to park next to the person who I bought the helmet from, emptied the car and got inspected, then waited for the classes and HDPE1 to get on the track. Met my instructor and off we went. What a blast! Paul(my instructor) was fantastic. He got me around the track safely but fast. Very fast. I had four times on the track and each one was faster. Then Paul took me out in his car when the instructors could go on track. Man, what a difference! I thought I had my car on the edge. We went twice as fast in his car. I couldn't fathom how his car stayed on the track but it did and it was thrilling to say the least.
NASA ran a fantastic event. It was hot! But they had water for everyone and kept after you to drink it. All of the different classes got on the track on time, they handled any misshap on the track swiftly. Eric, the instructor I bought a helmet from introduced me to a bunch of people, and everyone was friendly and helpful. I met a lot of HPDE1 & HPDE 2 guys and they all raved about their instructors, so I feel lucky that I started with NASA.
All in all it was a great great day.. Can't wait for the next one.

Glad you had a great day. It was super hot Saturday and must have been tough out there.
Somehow it's worth it, though.
Well done

Welcome, glad you had such a good experience with NASA! Be sure to join PCA and get involved with your local region as PCA (all regions) puts on a lot more local events that you can attend and there are some excellent instructors out there.

Awesome! Try to resist the urge as you go forward to get signed off solo. Enjoy the instruction while you can as that is the best and fastest route to improving.

Above all else have fun!

Absolutely LV. The reason it went so well was because of my instructor, Paul. I still don't even know what I don't know. I am very happy riding with an instructor.

Funny thing is, when you start to get good in your run group and think you know 'stuff', you get promoted to the next higher group and realize there is much more to learn.

Awesome - Palmer is a great track (I'm hoping to go back next month with NNJR PCA) and it's always good to see another Porsche owner hooked on this track addiction we all have around here haha

Kisik, I'm signed up for the NER in Sept. I'm on a wait list. Hopefully there will be enough instructors.

No worries. Like I said, we have fantastic group and great instructors which are always late signing up. They will usually clear wait list. There is always our final winter event in October in NHMS.
