"What can I say? The guy (Hamilton) competed in a two-car world championship last year and was second, so I don't think he can say much," the Brazilian quipped.

Well, I think LH has a point, up to a point
On the one hand, even though Indycar is now basically a spec series with, what, one or two chassis (Dallara and ?) and two engines? you do have teams like Penske, Andretti and Ganassi (i.e. teams with $$$$) dominating.....kinda like the wealthy teams in F1.
On the other hand, many of the drivers in I/C seem to be older--some like this year's winner (age 40) have driven F1 and with not much success.....does this make them lousy drivers? Of course not (you can't suck going 220+ in traffic for hours!) but it'd be interesting to see how one or more of the younger I/C drivers would do in a good F1 car.
I think Fernando's result is more a testament to his brilliance than anything else--not many other Alonsos out there

There's some pack-fill in Indycar, same as there is in F1. But I would put the likes of Dixon, Power, the late JWil, Pagenoud, and a handful of others up against anyone. Alonso is one of the best in the world and was placed in a car that was absolutely capable of winning the race, so his pace wasn't a tremendous surprise.

He tries so hard to make himself disliked.

I posted this in the Alonso goes to Indy 500 thread, but looks like it would fit here as well. Fernando showing a little class as he accepts the Rookie Award.

Alonso has a history of being a primadonna so maybe he has grown up and there is hope for Lewis some day.

I liked the next statement from TK just as much: "It was a pleasure to have Fernando here. He is humble, not like some of his colleagues who were making comments this month."

A bunch of F1 drivers have tried their hand at NASCAR and none of them have been successful. Not even on the road courses. Montoya was the best of the bunch but even he only won a couple road course races.
Kimi Räikkönen and Jacques Villeneuve couldn't even do that.
Hamilton can run his mouth all he wants but until he goes and accomplishes anything other than his singular specialty of winning in cars that are better than any other in the field, I don't think he's got a leg to stand on.

LH's hypercompetitiveness seems to stem from a deep-seated insecurity and immaturity. Arguably the worst persona in F1 today.

I lost a lot of respect for HAM with this recent quote about Indy and ALO. But I didn't have that much respect for HAM to start with. "Class" is not in his vocabulary.
