Plugged tire
I'm pretty sure I'll get a lot of replies saying dont do it, but I will through this question out there anyhow. Would you run a DE event with a plugged rear tire?

Will you truly have fun and drive your best knowing that? How much is a hotel, gas, etc for the weekend, never mind the body shop bill if it fails? Is it worth the risk and loss of fun?

Plugged? No!
Repaired with a patch from the inside? I'm not admitting anything but.......a long time ago when I had less money........and was much slower.......I still didn't do it fool!

OK I'll bite. I know there are strong opinions on here. And for liability reasons everyone is going to say no which is probably the right answer. But I ran a DE season (6 track days) on a patched rear sport cup without issue. My tire shop said official answer is no but plugged is OK for the street and a patch of a small puncture is fine for DE if not near the sidewall.

I guess it depends on what was plugged and how long it was in there..
If it was a slim nail AND you know exactly where/when when the puncture occurred AND was patched the same day AND the puncture was no where near the sidewall, you might get away with it..
If its a thin nail, it probably deflected off the steel belt, anything thicker could damaged it.
If you patched/plugged same day, then you probably did not get water between the layers.
The only proper repair is plugged AND patched from the inside (tire must come off).
If all of the above are known and controlled, your risk is probably minimal.. Personally I still would not do it though..
If not tightly controlled circumstances, I would not touch it with a 10ft pole.

Nope.
Imagine how you'd feel after expending/spending all the time, effort and $$$ to attend these events, only to have it all come crashing down (literally) because you cheaped out on a tire. Not to be harsh but if/when it lets go I hope I'm not on track with you......
End of story.

Can't tell if serious...

Can a nail/screw in a tire plug a hole while at the same time run a DE?
I wonder how many here have picked up one of those in the pit/paddock/etc, ran the event and didn't know until after it was over and they changed tires?
Would that qualify for "Ignorance is bliss but knowledge is dangerous"?

What about this? Best I've found without removing and patching. Remember- an entirely flat tire even after a 30 feet distance probably shot. These are cool.
