Default The Mitty at Road Atlanta

HSR's 40th annual vintage motorsports race weekend, The Mitty, is April 21-23 at Road Atlanta. This year, Porsche will be the featured marque and Hurley Haywood is the grand marshal.

Always a big crowd of spectators. A tour of Atlanta's Porsche Experience is already fully booked. There are two feature races on Saturday exclusively for Porsches....one for pre-1974 models...one for 1975 thru present.

Should be a fun weekend. My first time racing with HSR (in a SPB).

The Mitty is a lot of fun. A spectacle really. My first one as a spectator was thirty-five years ago and my first race was there was thirty years ago. Take a deep breath, take in the sight and sounds and enjoy!

I'll be there, unfortunately running a base cayman in group 10. I promise to stay out of everyone's way! Engine coming out of the 69 911 after Amelia Island. But the Mitty is a must do and a spectacle.

FWIW - The Spec Boxster (1997-99) runs in the Grand Sport (SSB) Class with Acuras, BMWs, Mustangs, Lotus, Mazda, Nissans, Olds, and Porsche 944s and 911SC. The classification is modeled on SCCA. We run in Group 3.

Love the Mitty and hope to race in it one day....just need a legal car!! Seems early this year, unfortunately. I'll be racing at Watkins Glen with AER so no Mitty for us...

I'll come watch. Did this event 2 years ago and saw so many amazing, rediculous cars.
10,000 fans show up for this!
FWIW, selling my fake RSR 3.0L 380hp vintage monster.
This car was built specifically for HSR rules (comes with correct HSR rear deck lid spoiler). Fresh white paint, fresh engine - zero (0) hours! It will be at the Mitty under the Zotz tent. Bring $, buy car, race the Mitty!

Pictures from Rennsport Reunion V and PCA Vintage Race at Summit Point 2016, led pole to finish.

Just signed up last night.. I've been working too much to race, but had to make time for the Mitty. Looking forward to it.. Going to try and defend my Enduro Win from 2015..

Does anyone know details on the Porsche Corral? I may bring my RS on Saturday too..

Tons of events and three days of racing on the Roval.

My first Mitty. Pretty incredible and also intimidating group of cars.
Let's see, when was the last time I raced against recent GT3R, RSRs, DPs and LMP2 car's? I believe that would be never.

In honor of the event went with retro white helmet (actually it's new and didn't have time to paint). Should have been driving a '61 E-Type.

The grid of the early Porsche Group A race on Saturday
Great event if just a little warm weather for even a Florida guy
