Hate to see you give up that awesome 996 but SRF will make you a MUCH better driver

Congrats. You'll have a blast with it. You'll also appreciate the cost effectiveness vs. the cost of racing a 996. I raced a SRF for one season and really enjoyed it.

Thx! I did work a buy back option into the 996 deal. When my kids graduate in 5 years I still want to hit the road and go run PCA. But for now, SRF will allow me to race more people locally (10 running in Hallett's series this year) and force me to focus on improving my driving instead of my car to get quicker.

And yes, $20 brake pads, $30 rotors and $800 Hoosier stickers definitely played a part in the decision.

Gen3 cars are great. I've supplied a lot of equipment for them, video and data.

I'm going to give the CDS system it came with a try but it's going to need some video.

135 HP on a 1560lbs go cart. Lol. They seem to run very similar times to my 996.

SRF3 is a blast. One of my clients is Tray Ayres who runs in the SE. I've run his car a few times and it's a lot of fun to drive. Big entry speed and lots of grip but still plenty of slip angle to make it fun.

I'm gonna warn you right now that you might find it difficult to impossible to go back to closed cockpit. Congrats on your new toy!

Thanks! You may be right. I can't wait to get it on the track this Wed. I've spent a day in a Gen 2 and a day in an FM but not a Gen 3 yet.

SCCA is at Hallett this weekend and has 40 entries in SRF3. Now that sounds like fun!
