Hi,

I am looking for trailex enclosed trailer, please let me know if anyone is looking to sell one. My budget is around $12 to 14k depends on the condition, Year and options that come with the trailer.

Unless you are set on Trailex you can buy an ATC or Intech for that amount and have a trailer you can actually stand up in and have a huge escape door. On top of that they would be new instead of used.

thanks for your advice, I did considered this option however , due to limitation on my tow vehcile ( Audi Q7),it seems like trailex is the only option due to it weight.

Yes.. I contacted him. A little out of my budget. Trying to keep it at low $14 k range. Is that realistic ?

Realistically, how much the unusual sold for a used 2007 trailex enclosed. ? Please advise.

They tend to hold their value so keep in mind that you can probably always sell it for what you bought it for - if buying used. In the Fall I've seen some older models for as low as $12k.

For some, the larger front doors and increased ceiling height options are a real plus (or a requirement). These are expensive options and so is the optional forward and floor storage. Your new build price will depend on those options. Mine was $23k new in 2014.

The door is pretty big on a Trailex.

If you can find a used one for 12K, awesome deal. Watch for abused stuff from the north. While they are aluminum, the running gear (brakes, axles) and bolts are steel/iron. I spent 2K rejuvenating a used one I bought from a forum member. Ask for pics of the underside, brake drums, etc. beyond that, you should see these on planet of the apes. They are very well built.

Wow. That pic looks like you had to pull it quite far forward for balance.

That is about 660lb tongue weight with a set of Hoosiers/wheels on the rack. I go for max tongue weight - seems the most stable.

My friend just bought a different trailex and can confirm the additional $$$ needed to fix the rusty bits. Looks like OP is in NJ, so anything local will have the same issues.

the brakes, drums and axles are industry standard parts that all trailers use. Any trailer will need repair if abused. You can't drag them around on salty roads and not wash them. You need to grease the bearings and grease buddies are not the same as changing the grease. The bearings in the rear can't get grease via buddy. Mine had no working brakes because the insane rust had seized the inner workings of the drums and the rear bearings were essentially fragments on two of the wheels. This applies to any trailer, no matter how fancy. If you put a lot of miles on the trailer then perform maintenance more often, there is no easy way out for the lazy. Mine was in such bad shape I would question buying anything from the person again.

All steel/iron metal bits will get surface rust, not a problem
- its when the rust hinders the mechanical workings you have to worry about.
