Pre-Race Checklist
I know this has been posted before, but starting a new thread.
Thinking of having a checklist sticker printed that I can put on the roof as a final check before I get in. I try to do a mental checklist now but always seem to forget something.
Here is what I am thinking. What would you add?
Hood Pins
Lug Nuts
Fuel
Cool Suit (Ice)
Another sticker inside:
Chin Strap
Hans Straps
Cool Suit
Camera
Data
Radio
Window
Looks like I need to order 100+ of these, so would be happy to share if anyone is interested.

No.. seriously. (A) nothing is worse than sitting on grid wishing you had...... And if you don't maybe you didn't hydrate enough.

Rather than a checklist on your roof, make a point of walking around your car once before you get into it after you come back from the bathroom. If you find something, walk around it again. Then make sure you have your helmet, Hans and gloves and go.
You should worry about your lug nuts as part of your wheel changing check list.

If you see me playing drums on my steering wheel while sitting on the grid it means I forgot to hit the bathroom and am trying to distract myself!

Since we brought up his name, and since we discussed this practice previously, don't forget the "Yonker Yank". Defined as, "Tugging on your steering wheel before leaving grid to ensure that the wheel is properly secured."

Another thing I normally do is call my wife a little before the race and then again afterwards.
She knows to keep the conversation light and just wants to wish good luck. Afterwards she wants to know I am safe and how I did.
When she tells me the dog is sleeping by the front door waiting for me it gives me a positive image of home and helps me to focus on the race.

Good advice....
Pee: great advice... adding that to the list...
Yonker Yank: That's the one I was forgetting.. Adding it and using the patented name...
Hood pins are the killer for me... I cant tell the number of times I've gotten in, started buckling in, then second guess myself "did I check the hood pins?".. only to have to unbuckle and get out to check them..
