Dont think ive seen this posted before...

I had one completely seize after getting wet and not completely dry before storing the car.. On the one hand, I'm thinking a little shot of wd40 to drive out water is a good idea after each rain event (or washing the car), but afraid it will attract dust/dirt and shorten the life of the joint.

What do you guys do?

I've seen them wear due to getting dirty, but I've not seen one seize before ... I think I usually get the Teflon-lined ones, maybe that keeps them permanently "lubricated"?

On the FC cars, we always sprayed them down with WD40 after they got wet at the track. I might use Boeshield now, but you have to do something. They are a regular maintenance item.

Really can't recommend any liquid lubricant, as all of the good heim joints are teflon lined and liquid attracts dirt and crud.

Dry PTFE or graphite lubricants are recommended. I have used Tri-Flow for many years. My race car has thirty-plus linered rod ends on it alone.
