Pretty cool to geek out on

nice article, thanks for posting.
I was waiting for Ujhasi to be asked if the transmission was the dual clutch from the cayman, and responding with - "for political reasons we prefer to call it an electronic racing transmission." |
Thanks for posting.

Here's hoping for a successful 2017 season! Am concerned that Porsche is "pinning" hopes on BOP. The 2016 Le Mans race with Ford was a fiasco.

I don't give a damn what they call it or where they position it in the hierarchy ($$$). Call it "GT1" if they must. Just get over the fact that mid-engine is plainly better and look past the decades-long snobbery of "911 is the only real Porsche". And the Mezger snobbery. |
nope. i mean like a mid-mounted 911 with proper double-wishbone suspension all around.
|
If Porsche are so adamant as per their argument that this is "100% 911" that a 911 has variants including an all wheel drive, then they should have a mid mounted 911. Well, we all know where that leaves us with a 718. Moving forward, if they were to really distinct the two lines with both variants of mid and rear engines in both lines of the 911 and 718, then we can see something like an M4 and M2. Then again, we all know what kind of Pandora's box this would open, or as suggested above make an RSR special.

So a Cayman/"GT1?" with better suspension. I wish...
