Q: alignment process porsche 997.1 cup car?
i posted this in cup cars forum - but no answer so perhaps here I get help:
post:hello
can you explain in step to step how to align a cup car?
f. e. is it necessary to detach the anti roll bar first bevor you start the corner weighh scale process?
thank you

No need to detach the roll bar.

Absolutely disconnect sway bar links before going on scales. Corner weights will change with different preloads in the sway bar.
Once you have the corner balance set you will want to adjust the sway bar links so you have 0 preload which will not affect the corner balance.

Agree, first step disconnect sway bars.
Add driver weight to car and ensure rake and ride height in the target range, too.

Like I said, you absolutely want to disconnect the drop links prior to corner balancing.

1. Level Spring Perches side to side within .5mm of each other
2. disconnect ARB's
3. Measure and correct ride height, Keep spring perches within .5mm
4. camber and toe at all four corners
5. Wheel base
6. re check camber and toe
7. re check ride heights.
8 LAST step is always corner balancing. Camber and toe have the greatest effect on corner weights. and if you adjust corner weights properly you wont change ride height or anything else.

Let's say you raise the rear right one turn? If you lower the rear left one turn you will not change ride height. Only weight on scale will change. If you only jack on one spring perch and don't do anything to the opposite spring perch yes ride height will change.
