Great news, Pat. The trip is well worth it. There is nothing like putting the hammer down in 4th gear, while turning, going downhill, four times in a single lap.
This UCR PCA page has the info you need: http://pcaucr.org/driving/club-race/border-crossing/
I had the bond letter, general inventory of truck/trailer, all titles for car/truck/trailer, and my passport.
I crossed the border in Detroit and it was easier than I thought it would be. The Canadian customs asked me: 1) Where I was going, 2) Have I ever been arrested, 3) What I do for a living, and 4) If I had a gun (might have asked me that twice). He did not look in the trailer.
On the way back in, US customs also asked about guns, and I did have to get out of the truck and open up the trailer for inspection (brief).

Important update #2 for today: We are currently sorting out beer vendor for the tailgate party. That's Canadian beer, which is reason enough to come.

Update #3 for today:
Braiden Tire is one of the main sponsors for the event - they have a shop trackside including tire service and retail race products.
JX2 will be providing tires and support for GTC and Clubsport classes per usual. Bob Woodman is not coming to the event.
Brad at Braiden Tire can source whatever you need (Toyo, Hoosier, Pirelli, Michelin, etc.) and has offered to stock some common sizes for other classes (based on registration numbers).
Brad has asked to have all orders at least 3 weeks before the event. You can contact him and/or his wife Nadia at the main Braiden Tire shop in Markham: 905.209.7979
You can also email Brad at: braidan1@gmail.com
Or contact him via personal cell: 416.460.5252

For anyone who wants coaching for either the Thursday Aug 3 test & tune, or the event weekend, feel free to PM me and I can connect you with local talent. We have a list of coaches available, many of whom are pros, and all have significant experience at Mosport.
I'll let Dave and Peter chime in here re. their potential availability.

Last year was my first trip up there. I can't wait to make it again.
The border crossing is no big deal. Don't let that be a deterrent in any way.
The Thurs. test day this year is a BIG bonus (not available last year).
Turns 2 and 4 are world famous. And the rest of the track is pretty damn exciting, too.
A big group of us are camping out at the track this year. The campfire scene last year was big fun.
