I wonder how stable this is going to be on bad 4G connections. That was my main issue. How fast will it reconnect.

Might order one myself to test

I've been playing with it all day and it drops and reconnects over my very crappy ATT connection here at home. There is no way any track in the world would have a worse cell network connection, so that's good. I will do a very nice and clean install over the next week - Will run it from a GoPro Hero 3 Black. First test will be in about a month at Sebring - I will report back.

Good luck! Looking forward to the result! I'm looking at the pro with a mini broadcast camera.

The Race Keeper is using the Teradek to connect to MiFi unit to broadcast. There are ZERO instructions with the thing. Even so I can connect, but it takes TIME. Booting takes MINUTES and then I cant figure out how to connect auto to MIFI even though I saved and told stupid thing to connect. So right now I have to wait to boot then connect manually. Once done it works. Have had it running inside garage watching movements (not like on track I know) and seems ok so far. Will try for real at 48 Hours....

If you use this thing you will need to get a 12v pigtail as it has really bad battery life (though for $4k Race keeper should include a 50 cent cable but no. Now waiting for data interconnect cable or it all goes back).

I borrowed a Teradek Cube setup a while back and it worked ok. Interested in the VidiU, too.

Unfortunately, without a mesh present at the track, latency is a big issue. So, for my desired real-time use, this technology is still pretty limited, even if you spend $3K-$5K.

I'm sure Steve and Angus will get you straight, losaltosbob. Did you get the setup from them? Race-Keeper has been working on this longer than any of the others.

This is the VidiU unit that comes with the kit.

Was told when I bought it that a y connector came to connect to CAN bus for data. Now they dont do them anymore and have to cut into the cable. I dont think so. AIM for a LOT less has a direct pass through cable the works great. Steve said a couple weeks ago would get me one. I have a couple weeks of prep time left and then car is done for 48 hours. So it is complete in a couple weeks with Race Keeper, or will work on another solution and Race Keeper goes back.

No - the Loheac karting track is the closest I've ever come to that.

The cool part is that you can log your live streaming in RaceMonitor. Just click on the green symbol and you will see which drivers have live streaming.

So I have added some events to the streaming schedule:

Upcoming Racecast Events

Here is the public channel I will be using at the two Sebring events. Theoretically, you just need to click on the link to watch (fingers crossed):

Yes you can - all you need is to set-up your encoder software.
