Rosberg is in covering mode so it's Hamilton's race to lose.

Nico's only danger is a DNF, I'd think unless he crushes the start AND Hamilton produces another botch job, he'll be content to stay out of trouble in the opening laps and then rely on strategy to finish second to Hamilton going away, although VES could sneak in for second.

The Hamster goes agricultural.

Rosberg dodges a bullet.

Nice save by Alonso.

2.1 sec pit stop!

231.1mph!!

Vettel goes poastal.

Later Max.

Are the Williams sisters the most disaffected F1 fans in history?

Max the Lax may be in even more trouble than Vettel.

The broadcast bleeped out Vettel's radio transmission... I wonder what he could have said.

I don't know if it is just NBC or the world feed choosing to air Vettel and Raikonen's comments more than others, but between the two of them they have a lot to say.

Transcript of Vettel's comments:

From: Sebastian Vettel He has to let me go, he has to let me go.

To: Sebastian Vettel OK copy stay calm.

From: Sebastian Vettel No it’s not right. I don’t stay calm. He’s just blocking me into Ricciardo

To: Sebastian Vettel Copy that.

From: Sebastian Vettel OK Verstappen has to give you the position. Watch for Ricciardo behind.

To: Sebastian Vettel Move, move for [censored by FOM] sake.

From: Sebastian Vettel He has been informed, he has to move.

To: Sebastian Vettel He is a [censored by FOM]. Am I the only one or are you not seeing what I’m seeing? He’s just backing me off into Ricciardo. [Censored by FOM]

To: Sebastian Vettel You have to fight within. Charlie…

From: Sebastian Vettel What the hell are you talking about? He cut the chicane.

To: Sebastian Vettel Copy.

From: Sebastian Vettel And now he’s brake-testing me.

From: Sebastian Vettel I mean honestly I think I’m going to hit someone. I think I have a puncture. Rear left.

To: Sebastian Vettel Tyres are fine.

From: Sebastian Vettel He has to give me the position. End of the story.

To: Sebastian Vettel Charlie said that… Charlie said.

From: Sebastian Vettel Yeah? Here’s a message to Charlie: [Censored by FOM] off. Honestly, [censored by FOM] off

To: Sebastian Vettel Sebastian calm down. They are under investigation I know it is not fair. But calm down. Put your head down and we will talk afterwards.

From: Sebastian Vettel OK, copy Maurizio.

From: Sebastian Vettel I think I showed enough. I mean, overtaking is not a walk in the park. So to me it is clear. That’s the last what I’m saying.

To: Sebastian Vettel Sebastian we understand, we talk afterwards and we want to talk with FIA. You have done a great race, really, I am proud of you.

From: Sebastian Vettel Grazie ragazzi. Mate, strategy worked well. Shame about yesterday because the pace was there. Grazie.

To: Sebastian Vettel Thank you and well done for the race.

Sounded like Vettel said, F@%$ you, Charlie.

That little ***** Ves only got a 5 sec penalty, which moved Vettel to 3rd, Ric to 4th.
Then after the race, Vettel got a 10 sec penalty for a move fighting with Ric, which should never have happen in the first place. He also got 2 points on his license.

I can't stand that little POS Ves. Totally w/o class. F1 has protected him from the very beginning. They must be thinking he will somehow draw in younger viewer. More likely to cost them a lot of currently committed fans.

Maybe Ferrari will have a mystery mechanical with both cars on Friday of the next race and have to pack up for the weekend. I doubt many people tune in to watch Merc. Yawn.

Ha ha. Nothing like a bit of controversy to make a race more interesting. I can't wait for Brazil. It's going to be Ferrari and Red Bull going at it. This time we have to get Kimi in on the action too.

Hammy should have gotten a penalty too. He did the same thing that Max did.

I don't understand that either. Gaining an advantage isn't just about the guy in back of you.

Well yeah. He should have. It's the inability of the stewards to make quick and consistent decisions that is turning F1 into a bit of a circus.

Good crowd in Mexico. But it was a bit of a snoozer race up until the last few laps when it came alive. They should put a gravel trap on that section of track at turn #1. Then the drivers would know there will be consequences for going into the turn too hot. The way it was handled in this race was a bit of a joke.

Anyway, I am guessing that Vettel had to be penalized, otherwise Verstappen would think they weren't enforcing the new rule, and he would continue to do it himself. Without a doubt Verstappen is talented, but the ####head needs to grow up. In all his post race interviews, he continues to claim that he is incapable of making a mistake and that all the other drivers don't know what they are doing.

As far as Hamilton and Rosberg is concerned. It's pretty evident that Rosberg is playing it safe right now keeping his nose clean and not stretching his equipment to the limit. It makes for kind of a boring finish to the season if this is how it all transpires. I sure hope 2017 marks the end of the Merc total dominance we have seen these last three years. Red Bull was dominant the 4 years Vettel won, but not this dominant. Anyway I don't have a problem with the Mercs being good, it's getting rather boring with them having such a huge performance gap over their closest rivals race after race after race after race on most (but not all) tracks.
