Default Porsche 906

There was a local "International Car Show" today and I saw this car on the way to a sporting clays shoot. Went back this afternoon with my camera. I'll add pics of the Ferrari in another thread.

that car was at the Coatesville Vintage Grand Prix last month, along with a totally original 904 (with the 4 cam motor!!). there was also a 1969 Ferrari Daytona racecar prototype that apparently finished 5th at Lemans. it was incredible to see and hear them racing through the streets; they were being driven very cautiously (totally understandable when there were curbs and culverts and guard rails and hay bales all over the place). I felt honored to be sharing the same track as them!

It always makes me so happy to see cars like that being driven and not just 'show and shined'.

Is that color on the 906 original? Never seen one painted that color.

I'm not sure if the 906 was original color or not, but to me it definitely looked like it had been restored professionally. the 904 to me looked to be original and unrestored, both exterior and interior (I wish I'd gotten some interior shots of it but I was busy racing!!!) interior was VERY spartan on the 904 with wooden steering wheel and shell bucket seats and original faded old timey gauges

No. It was repainted after it was converted back from being a coupe, then a spyder and back to a coupe again. It came in 5th OA at the 1966 Targa Florio so it does have some history. The color looks like Stahlgrau 61W used on the 90's 993's to me.

Same car here https://www.motorsportimages.com/col.../33608/photos/. https://motorsport-images.smartframe...YwOC9waG90b3Mvhttps://motorsport-images.smartframe...YwOC9waG90b3Mv
