I don't have the technical knowledge or the big track experience of most here, but I will share my situation.

While I was worried about the oil pickup concerns, I didn't have any high G extended loads at auto-x so I figured I'd be okay. However, one day my air/oil diaphragm gave out unexpectedly on my 987.1 CS. I was told this was a normal wear item and it 'happens', but not to worry as its only a $400 fix, the oil just makes it look bad/smokey. Unfortunately for me, my engine hydro-locked, bending a rod and cracking a head. I ended up selling my car to LA Dismantlers at a loss.

I assume I am on the list as "for sure" or "likely" for SPC? I hope we can get a few more to commit! I drove my H car I just bought for the first time this past weekend and it was a blast. Jay just listed his cayman for sale that with a few mods would be SPC ready. Nicely priced as well. See below

Not to sure what to think about that LOL, thought the build may be coming quicker, put a deposit on another Cayman for Monika but the PPI showed a range 5 over rev, backed out. Still on the hunt

Sorry to hear about that. That's why that part should be replaced frequently or, if one is going to track the car consistently, changed to the motorsports version.

For those reading this thread FYI - there is a Cayman motorsports AOS that is designed to fit with the secondary air injection (SAI) system intact. For dedicated track/race cars there is no point in keeping the SAI - by removing the SAI plumbing you can run a 6-cup motorsports AOS which is several hundred bucks cheaper than the Cayman version

I have a Cayman SAI blockoff plate kit available, please PM me if interested. First to market, I might be able to buy some extra lattes with the profits

^ wellcoached was referencing your car and Francois.

So here's the list AFAIK:

One car in Texas
Three cars in the midwest/NE
Manny - yup
Francois - yup
Kai - pending but committed
Al - likely, just needs to get his *** in gear
Another 'likely'
Another 'possible'
Not including wellcoached who is clearly musing about it

I think it's going to catch on well. This next season will build and then by year 3 we should see decent fields.

Most , if not all Gen 1 issues are cylinder bore scoring, on street driven caymans Mantis has seen. Track caymans oil issues, that why developed since 2006 our deep sump. 3 gen sump now.
