They could make a much wider tire wall to absorb the impact with gradual decel superior to a SAFER barrier. There is plenty of room from the runoff to add tires. I thought they had more tires there before, does anyone know if they narrowed the tire wall after the repave?

How did the steering wheel get bent?

A little hard to tell from the single pic but do you think his legs jumped up into the wheel as it was turned to the right?

Or was it his right hand/wrist transmitting the force to the wheel? Surely, if this was the case he would have snapped a wrist.

Thank goodness for the impact barrier.
