Watching the IMSA 6 hr race at Watkins Glen. Unfortunately, 75% of the time the announcers have adopted a particularly annoying habit/practice. It's maddening to listen to the announcers refer to any car in any class as "the 10 car", "the 73 car", or even just "the 12". Good Lord......that tells me absolutely NOTHING. What car? What class? What driver?

Perhaps NASCAR fans can't comprehend anything more complex than "the 10" or "the 73", but I for one would like a little more info. Makes it most difficult to watch.

I have it on as I type this--just heard Calvin Fish refer to the "#63 Ferrari" so I think it's mostly Creamer....keep listening and you'll prolly hear him use time-tested cliches like "chrome horn" and "tank slapper"
