Default 996 Radiators

Manufactured by CDOC for Grand Am Teams, you can run into a wall or other drivers and keep going. These are bullit proof and you will not need to run a center radiator, temps are lowered substantially.
$750

Unfortunately these are not legal for SPB.

I made a rule change proposal several years ago to allow for free rads but it was declined.

They should be legal. No performance advantage as far I can tell. I doubt there is even much weight difference. Just way more serviceable.

Yes they should. Plastic radiators are not made for racing. I have a couple of those too but I'm hanging on to them in case they change the rule. I'll propose it again this year.

Agreed... should be legal. These type of rads were on my SPB when I bought it and had to remove them to be in compliance with this stupid rule. The plastic fittings are an f'ing joke for a race car.

Stronger, symmetrical, more efficient cooling. What's not to like? Doesn't make the car go any faster but may help extend the life of the motor. I think worth trying (again) this year as a rule change for ALL water cooled spec classes.

Send me your proposal and i'll toss one in also, fully agree they should be allowed but I understand their thought process with trying to keep the class "stock" and affordable. Took us years to get rid of the interior and passenger seat in my previous group...

These are not even produced anymore and were not cheap. CDOC was selling these around $1750 and their cost I believe was $1600 pair. Not good for a Spec Class, but great to salvage a weekend when blasted in turn 1!
