Default Towing 24' stacker with ????

Hey,
I know this topic has been visited before but I'm not finding an exact answer in the past threads.

I am considering getting a stacker trailer with maybe a 24' length. The cars that will go in it will both be less than 1500 pounds (FM 1350, plus another FM or Radical).

Right now I have a Ram 2500 diesel Single rear. I am guessing that this would not be OK but I'm not totally sure.

If I wanted to stick with a pickup and not a toter home, what would I need to bumper pull a stacker like this? Simply a dually 2500 with medium/long wheel base?

There's significant wind resistance with a stacker behind a pickup regardless of the pickup's particulars. You can do it, but the wear and mileage on the truck suffer from pulling a 2 story building behind it. Motor/toter homes are made for that purpose....

You should look into a trailer with a lift, not a real stacker. You could probably do it with your cars adding a foot of height to the trailer. Talk to Chris at Primo. I can't remember his rennlist name.

I would imagine it's a drag (pun intended). For the near term, I'd be using a pick up truck.

Thanks for remembering Chris! I forgot about that. There's also ACT in my neck of the woods.
With my cars not being quite as tall as many other types of cars, I would think something shorter would work ok.

40 ft. Featherlite 2 axle gooseneck with 32ft. of deck perfect for 2 cars. Lightweight and they pull like a dream behind anything diesel. This one's sold but you get the idea.....

I'm looking at a house right now that would be difficult to access with a long trailer. It's got the land to build a sweet garage but the wooded nature would mean I could probably go maybe 26-28 feet total length. It's a really great place otherwise I'd just pass on it.

If you are going with anything over 9-ft inside I would definitely get a dually for stability.

I've seen some ramp set ups like this in normal height enclosed trailers.
Gary Boss, a midwest Porsche club racer, built one and put two 911's in one trailer.
With the weight of the cars you are loading, I wouldn't think it would be that difficult to figure out.

With the height and weight of your cars, I would think you could do custom lift in a normal height trailer or a trailer with an extra foot or two of height.

Something like this.
