Agreed Laguna will be a more neutral track for us to play on. Sonoma I've only driven twice and which is probably similar to your ACS experience. You'd kill me there. The betting line says you get into Laguna....

I'm hoping and crossing fingers & toes to get in. I think my wife had made some birthday celebration plans that my not getting in would throw a wrench into the works. Can I whine? I WANT TO PARTY! (at LS, after driving)

I personally like the idea of competition at SP. It is a bit biased in my favor, and I like that!

Yes, with Rothsport.
Haven't even seen the cars since September at Rennsport so really looking forward to driving again. Raced at Sear's in 2005 so will be trying to keep up with you to learn the line!
Saw that Van Overbeek has a video online so Kim and I plan to watch that this weekend.

FWIW, here's a few laps I did in qualifying a couple years ago:

One thing the video will not tell you is that as you start up the hill toward T2, you must be in tight (the normal line) or out wide, but don't do it half-way as there is a big bump in the middle that can really unsettle the car.

Here's what not to do in T8A:

JvO is a second faster than me (driving my car) because he finds a way to get on the throttle a bit earlier exiting 7 and exiting 11.

While not exactly the same as racing in the PCA run group, you could always race that weekend by entering in one of the SCCA GT classes. If enough of you do it, it could effectively be a mini PCA race.

There is always a few Porsches and a Cup cars running at SCCA races.

It's the fastest lap I have ever run on the track. It was a 1:39.416. That's not slow!

You were really flying, that's 991 cup car laps. I'm guessing you haven't changed your pads since you built the car a few years back...

Sears Point is the perfect track for my car.

You noticed I don't use the brakes for very long, huh?

We registered for the PCA group but like most of you, we are on the wait list. Where can you register for the SCCA group?

Is there a schedule yet?

Thanks!
