Bentley states Andrew has suffered a head injury and will remain in the hospital. Prayers for both drivers, their families and loved ones.

Thoughts are with both drivers. It is a bizarre description of an accident. It sounds like the Aston was parked in the T1 runoff area and the Bentley hit it at high speed.

I found this more complete description by a Facebook user.
"I was sitting at the corner that this happened. It's turn 1 and there is a huge run off area. The wall was over 100 yards from the turn. The Aston was making a u turn as they are instructed to in this corner and the Bentley locked up and went straight into him. The Aston hit the wall after that impact but it appeared the Bentley never touched it. Went right over. He was so far in we couldn't see anything from the hillside. Maybe a gravel trap would have stopped them but I've never seen a car go this deep into that run off and i go to all major races there. Sad day at the track."

Got to the track right after this happened. CT state police had to investigate the incident so racing was suspended for about two hours.
Sounds like it was just one of those freak incidents that have a very unfortunate outcome. Hope they fully recover.
