Watch out for the two Red Bulls. It looks like they are sporting engine power unit upgrades at Monaco this weekend. I had heard earlier in the season that they had planned an upgrade for the Canadian Grand Prix. But either the upgrade is ahead of schedule or they will have two upgrades? Nevertheless, Ricciardo was 6 tenths of a second faster than the 2nd place Hamsandwich in P2 with Verstappen logging the 4th fastest time.

Only one engine up-grade for Red Bull and Daniel got it ( decision was made before Max won in Spain). I'm voting for Lewis! 🇬🇧

Nico
Ricciardo
Hammy
Max V

Seems the Ferraris don't like the ultra soft so I don't think Vettel or Kimi will be in contention.

I think there is going to be more carnage than usual with these ultra softs. I agree with the talking heads that the sidewalls seem to provide extra rebound causing the rear to break loose suddenly.

Its going to be interesting.

Mercs never show their hand in FP1 or 2. Watch out in qualifying where they will again be nearly 1 sec. clear of RB and probably closer to 1.5 sec. clear of the nearest Ferrari...

I went with Danny as well.
I think their aero package will be a good fit for the streets.
Just hoping for a great race.

Danny-boy is going to do it. Red-Bull has that look like they did back in 2009. They're getting it together and Renault finally has figured out this motor. Look for them to be a challange to Merc everywhere except for the highest hp circuits from this point on.

Just needs a good start on the harder tyre....and the rain to hold off.

I would back DannyRic against any driver in equal cars. Great response to last race result.

Some of the personality takeaways from today's qualifying:
  • Young Max states crash was his fault owing to turning in early. I like that he did't blame something else for the crash.
  • RIC smiles the same when he's on top or the back!
  • Nico states that RIC simply did a better job for P1. Classy.
  • HAM pouts,...again.

Interesting to see these patterns, isn't it?
