Default Polycarbonate Windows and 3M VHB Tape - Good?

Going to start reducing weight on the track 996 car tomorrow. Getting rid of the sunroof and the hood with the CF replacements and the windows.

I have the Five Star replacement polycarbonate rear and side windows that I will be installing. Was planning on rivnuts and Dow Corning 945 combo for securing them but I think the 3M 5962 VHB Tape (62 mil) tape would work just as well? I used this tape to help secure the side skirts in place and the stuff has a very strong bond. From what I have read, this is used also on NASCAR cars but I am not sure it they use it on panted metal to polycabrbonate bonding?

3M also recommends the 3M Adhesion Promoter 111 for the painted surface preperation.

Any experience using this for windows?
