Default Zone 1 48 Hrs Watkins Glen Registration Open

Registration for the Zone 1 DE at Watkins Glen May 20-22 opened this morning. It's already around 100 people. Friday is an advanced day with the National Instructor Training and an evening track walk. We will also have Peter Argetsinger conducting a classroom session and being available for professional ride along coaching all weekend.

I hope to see a bunch of Rennlisters there!

And don't forget the new asphalt! The track is going to be really fast!

First DE?? You are in for a real treat. This is a wonderful event with a long history. There is always a large turnout with a wide variety of cars and drivers from far and wide. I believe that Matt ^^ is the Chief Instructor for Zone 1. His track walk at the Glen is not to be missed!

I am the Chief Instructor as rumored. Make sure to come by and say hi when you get there and feel free to ask any questions you may have. My email is matt@trailbrake.net.

Pete will be signing people up first come, first serve at track. You can shoot him an email if you want at peteargetsinger@gmail.com. Pete is awesome to work with and really great at the Glen.

Hi Matt,

I signed up literally within seconds when registration opened, however I ended up on a waitlist some how, while my cousin and other friend got accepted right away. We already booked the hotel since this will be our first time down to the Glen. Can you provide any insight on how I ended up on a wait list when registration and payment was done immediately?

Thank you!

I wasn't the one working on that, but I would guess it's just how far the registrar got through the list before they had to stop working. I wouldn't worry about it yet. Shoot me an email at matt@trailbrake.net with your name and I'll see what I can find out.

I come in from the East, so I do think know the best route from Buffalo. The east side of Lake Seneca is nice.

Take the Thruway (Rt.90) east to exit 42, then Rt.14 through downtown Geneva (ugh) but then, once past the colleges, you'll find yourself driving along the lake which is beautiful. Lots of scenery, wineries, and cops so don't get too mesmerized.....14 leads straight into the Glen.

Just put your car numbers on before you leave home. NY cops always give a pass to Porsches with track day numbers on them.
