Pros and cons of OZ Alleggerita vs Forgeline or similar?
Net is for about the same money I could get new OZ or used Forgeline, CCW, etc.
Pros and cons of each?

I'll gladly sell you my last set of CCWs so I can get some more OZs. The CCWs are great wheels, really light and strong, but in my experience, they tend to have a slow leak. Have had them resealed, that worked for a few months. The OZs are great.

The OZ's seem like a good, reasonably priced wheel. I don't know how they compare (weight, strength, and stiffness) to a good 3 piece race wheel. In general 3 piece wheels are more versatile, but a good 1 piece wheel should be stiffer. I like being able to change offsets and make repairs. I recently bent up the inner rim on two of my Jongbloed wheels. It was nice to be able to order both rim halves for $400, it would have been over twice that much for new OZ's. But for most people who don't change wheel widths around or repair their own stuff it's probably not an advantage. With the OZ's you have a limited choices of widths and offsets but if you can find one that works for your set up it seems like a good option.

FWIW, I've had really good luck with OZs. I have 19" Ultraleggerras on my 997 C2S for daily driving. Tons of curb rash / 60k miles / 6 years. Many tire changes due to wear but zero problems. I also have 18" Allegeritas (Sorry for spelling, I have no Italian blood and too lazy to look it up!) for the track. They're 3 years old, but only 6 or so track days and still the original tires.
As stated above, I like them for their light weight and reasonable price. I found the sizes I wanted, so no issues there for me. Good luck!

Had 18 OZs on my R for several years. Sold them for 75% of what I paid for when I got my GT4. They were my track wheels with the usual marks. Never a problem with leaks, balancing, etc.

I'm happy w/ Forgeline, you can spec the ET to exactly what you want and have the whee; finished to suit your taste. Ti. hardware
bare but powdercoated GA3R, 8.5x18 is 21.25# ea, 10x18 is 22# ea
GA3R is a 3 piece race oriented wheel, they now have 1 piece versions which will b slightly lighter
There will be a wait for any custom wheel.
Forgot to add Forgeline are American made

I was going to go with OZs, but for about the same price saw a better looking set of used Formula 43 in widths that OZ doesn't make for WB. OZ seem a very popular choice from Scion FR-S to 911 GT3.
I have the same question in my mind: why are OZs so cheap? Even if you mess it up it still will be cheaper than parts for the 3 piece wheel.

The OZ's are cheap because they are cast, the other wheels we are talking about are forged and machined then bolted together to rim halves that have been spun from sheet metal. The manufacturing steps and cost of materials for a forged 3 piece wheel are significantly higher than a simple cast wheel.

Any idea of the brand of cast wheels they had? Under what conditions did they fail? Did you repeat those scenarios with your forged wheels? What brand forged wheels do you have?

I would go with a forged wheel if you plan on tracking your car or live in an area with bad roads. I like Forgeline wheels. When I damaged one of my wheels at the track the cost to replace the outer rim was very reasonable.

For DE, the OZ wheels are fine. For racing, go with Forgeline wheels as they are much much stronger. I only use the OZs for my rain tires. The Forgelines will still bend but they won't crack as easy as the OZ wheels if you have a hard hit somewhere.
