I think I should call Stable? I do t want to mess this up, just need to know what the IMSA install kit is all about.

Scott, Stable can talk you through this. They have really good product knowledge.
Looking forward to getting your reactions to the communicator. I'm no fan of the Chatterbox but I have to say it's never let me down.

I agree Rick I still have a first gen that works...just been thru alot of lollipops.
But with my car it's useless....recently had a friend request a ride...brought his new chatter box and still couldn't hear ANYTHING with the lollipop
Yet my radio coms are cristal clear

Hoping this will be great....so far a few have said theirs works great

Will this work with a wired instructor headset talking to a chatterbox student headset?

Most wired headsets are Dynamic mics, the chatterbox ones that I looked at were electret. While the Peltor supports either type, I'm not sure it supports them simultaneously. Just food for thought...

This will only work IMSA to IMSA. It will not work with a Chatterbox student headset.

First, thanks for the heads up and additional info. This is more complex than anticipated. Stable is working on an interface device that will work with chatterbox student headset.....not done yet.
So it looks like this set up approaches $500.00, with the adapter I would need...and this doesn't include the student set-up or interface, if I begin to understand this s bit better......?

This is not for everyone....if I knew I was going g to be into this like I am now in woulda bought one of these a while ago...

There are cheaper helmet kits you can get for about 50 bucks each with a mic and two speakers to and imsa plug....doesnt have the 3.5 jack for earbuds...that about 100 bucks each

Alot of guys with race cars already have a wired helmet for 2 way radios...same with most coaches.....

Chatterbox is cheap...build and sound quality as expected......but can be great for De and quiet cars....

You should be able to be out the door for under 500 if you shop around and need two helmet kits.......

Look at some of the other intercoms and your north of 500 even 1k with no headsets

I'm loving mine, used it with a really ghetto student headset I rigged up with a imsa helmet kit so it can be taken between students
Have a friend who is helping me make it much nicer and if all goes well I'll try to make them available for others

Individual volume for driver and passenger

Couldn't be happier
