Default Neck Restraints New Schroth

Ordered a new Schroth Flex. Very light weight and better vision to the side than the Hans allowed.

I ordered one too, as well as one of the next gen units, a leatt one, and the traditional hans unit. I'm going to do a review on each unit after the Schroth shows up as its the only one I don't have in hand.

I just purchased a HANS 3, and was pleasantly surprised with the side to side movement. After all the discussion of reduced side vision I was very concerned. However, after strapping into the car for the first time the only issue I had for limited movement and vision was looking down to work with the harness.

I have been waiting to order a Schroth version --- looking forward to your review.

My problem with any of the Hans devices is the part high back section that my helmet bumps into when I'm in my OMP halo seat. The Schroth doesn't stick up so there's no contact.

Same with Leatt I use. It also has option with foam section between helmet and brace. Without it you have more movement.
Isn't Hans only one left with that high back section?

I had a chance to handle one of these this week at our annual de workshop, it seems well thought out and is something I am strongly considering because of its flexibility, seems like a viable option to a Hans

Looking forward to hearing feedback... I will most likely order/buy a Schroth unit in a week or two or three...

Looking at the design, would I be correct in assuming that this will help in a direct side impact?

^ I don't think so.
Looks like a Hans with main improvement being the much lower rear section.
I wear a regular 3 year old hans and don't find it restricting once in the car.
The rear of it does rub on the seats though, so if a street car that could be a concern for wear.

Thanks. Wish there was something out there, other than a full on Halo, that would mitigate side impact risk.

Hans Device, center net along with the window net....all better with a halo seat.

Sparco Ergo seats, removable HALO so you can have the safety on the track and then remove them for the street.

I've had HANS, Hybrid Pro, Isaac. Have been using the Neckgen Rev for the past year and love it. Superior comfort to anything else. Also some added degree of lateral protection. I'd recommend a Necksgen over a traditional HANS to anyone.

With that said, I am intrigued by the new Schroth as it also looks like it also offers some added measure of lateral protection lacking in a HANS. If Schroth wanted to send me one to test I'd do it and report back.
