I know this is an old thread but hopefully this will encourage others to revisit their safety as well

Wise choice. Just had a radio interview last week with John Hammer that does a nationally syndicated show. He was recently in a fire while pulling his car (which prompted him to interview me). Got 3rd degree burns on his forearms where no material was. He was in flame less than a second (just a flash of fire he said) on the way out of the vehicle...burned that quick. Doesn't happen that often, but when it does it can be life altering.

I've also converted to "all the gear, all the time". From socks to full face helmet. Not an inch of cotton/synthetics can be found on me as long as I am driving the car. It's not worth it.
