any suggestions to keep windshield from fogging up
So here are the details:
Gen 1 cayman
porsche windshield
defroster was removed by previous owner
Fan motor reinstalled to blow air on windshield
What do you guys do to avoid the windshield from fogging up?
Last race I ran the more it rained and the more I ran the fan the foggier it got. No I did not think to turn off the fan. Urg.
Any suggestions on what to treat the inside of the windshield with, or wives tails or witches brew is greatly appreciated.
Thanks everyone

I've used Rain-X and it works pretty well. Also used shaving cream in a pinch at WGI in last year's club race.

First, make sure interior glass is clean. I make my own cleaner. One part denatured alcohol to 2 parts distilled water. Use only dedicated glass towels, never washed with fabric softener.
When cleaning interior windshield, break up the job into 4 smaller sections. Driver's side top. Driver's side bottom. Same with passenger's side.

Dawn hand dishwashing liquid soap. I don't even have a fan, just a covered hole where the HVAC used to be.
Start with a clean inside windshield, then use a clean paper towel. Apply a small dab on the towel and rub on inside of the glass on the right or left side. Keep rubbing until it turns clear. Use a second small dab and do the other side. It will leave a film on the glass and will keep it fog free for an entire day. Cheap and effective. A little goes a long way.
This run was from late run on a very, very wet day. You can see the Dawn starting to give up at the bottom of the windshield and the fogged up untreated passenger door glass. Conditions were so bad, the track closed after this run.

Just in case the Dawn doesn't work I installed electrical windshield heater elements. Bought them for about $100 from www.bimmerworld.com
