First Club Race - Have a quick Question
For the PCA Vehicle Compliance form..
Can someone tell me where to find the following on a 1988 944 Turbo.
Serial Number For:
Chassis
Engine
Transmission
Are the Porsche Production Number the Serial Number and the VIN all the same thing?
Thanks.

There is a seperate number on the engine and on the trans.
The trans' is on the top of the transaxle box, between the box and the body. Not easy to find, you will need a mechanic's mirror and some cleaner.
As I recall the engine was at the rear of the block, low on the passenger side.
I used the serial number for the chassis #.
These were for an S2 engine. I would guess yours would be the same.
The scruts did not seem to pay too much attention to this. But what scruts look for varies.
Make sure all your safety equipment is as the rules specify. Much of the tech time was spent on this.
Good luck and welcome to the fun.
You in F class?

No, not F class. It's kind of between classes right now. It has been modified to the point where it ends up in GT-3R. Unfortunately it has not been modified enough to be competitive in GT-3R. That's probably just as well for now. My goals for the first weekend are to finish with the car in working order and without upsetting anyone.
My safety stuff is about 95%. Things left todo after work today:
Install the new anti sub strap.
Install the roll-bar padding.
Thanks for the reply.
