Default AiM WiFi Now Working on MXL2, MXS, and MXG

I put this in the data forum, but I know lots of people have been waiting on this release.

Something that has been long awaited - WiFi is not enabled with the latest firmware update for the new dashes. You have to do both the RS3 update and update the firmware in your dash.

We're already seeing a benefit from AiM hiring a Technical Writer to revamp their support documents. Laura is doing a great job!

Includes directions for Parallels users on Apple products. As MATT says, make sure you first update the software (RS3), then connect to your device and update the firmware. In that order...

This is a great feature-long awaited. I used it at Sebring two days ago and it was nice to sit under the canopy and do firmware updates and downloads. The GPS manager did not work (thru RS 3) using WIFI, but I was using an earlier Beta version. I'll check that feature today on the newest release.

Does this mean I can grab data off the dash without plugging in a cable now?

If so, cool

Yup! You can kick back in the trailer and download data from the car without cables. Or over pit wall!

Take the time to set it up, first. Then the subsequent downloads will be easy and will not take too long. PLEASE make sure to wait until file transfer is complete.

We've discovered that the GPS Manager does not work over WiFi. Download works fine.

AIM just clarified WIFI and GPS manager. The current version will not work WIFI. They have a much more robust version almost ready to release and will use WIFI.

The one kicker using WIFI to download from the A/C lounge is that you need to remember to turn the power off in the car after the download. Great feature, Peter, Matt and I have been using it for a couple months.
