951CTSV - Flat Bottom Install

1 Attachment(s)
Cleaning up the underside with a little carbon fiber. My fabricator made up two removable panels to cover the main body area between the wheels. A small panel will be used to bridge to the carbon front splitter. A diffuser at the rear will be mocked up finally rendered in carbon as well. Sides will be mocked in foam then rendered in carbon.

Jack points will be carried through the carbon and the panels will be easily removed. At the end of the season we will redirect the exhaust out the sides with flats or ovals.

Very cool!

I was thinking of doing something like this over the winter in Alumalite. I run a 4" oval exhaust so I might have clearance to keep running the exhaust out the back, though it might cause issues with making a diffuser.
Adapting a "Boom tube" side exhaust might work without taking the ST HP penalty for tunneling the exhaust though the sills. Something like this:

Nice job Jim. You should look at installing some air jacks in my opinion.

I have considered that if we do some longer endurance races.

Love the floor, but very nice air box design also, excellent place for it.

Nice work. You stiffening your suspension to go with this mod? Flat bottoms and especially diffusers like really low (looks like you have that covered) and very constant ride height (i.e. very stiff suspension). I flat bottomed my 914 race car and added a diffuser, and doubled my spring rates.

Suspension has been 900 to 1000 rear/750/850 front we have the springs to make the adjustments. We created some good downforce with the current wing and splitter. Small changes to the rear wing provide significant differences.

We just finished the strakes and will be installing the complete package. We have to review how everything goes on and off quickly. We also have to confirm that we can jack the car and change set ups.

Then set up the car for Mid Ohio.

At this point I am thinking I should have bought a cup car and saved some money.

Sounds like you should be in the right ballpark.
