I'm seriously considering it. The SP3 guys looked like they were having a lot of fun at Putnam last weekend. It would be really nice to drop the ballast out of my car too.
Jim Noooo! - don't do it! I can't keep up with Jack any more with all of his cheater mods, so it's all up to you to defend E front-engine water pumpers everywhere.

Ya'll are funny! Actually, I have all of the cheater mods EXCEPT for the cheater shocks!
So far eighteen E cars are registered for Road America, and a total of 12 SPEC 1-3 cars.
I will be sure to move over when I see you coming, Evan. ...Hopefully that will be in the Enduro, and not a Sprint
Some interesting data from the Road America CR:
2010 E Class Race: 14 rear engine cars, 16 front engine cars
2015 E Class Registration: 21 rear engine cars, 2 front engine cars, 14 SP3

I must be the last one to get the memo.

Now that is interesting.
Take out that right hand seat, and come play in the sunlight. You won't have to do much else to the car...

Uh, how about remove the baby seat AND 332 pounds.
If I had a 944 or 968, SP3 would be a complete no-brainer. It is a great middle ground between Stock and GT with rules that make sense. I'm actually surprised it took as long as it did for people to "see the light."

Hence the evil grin thing in my post...
Losing weight is also an expensive process

And the lighter weight makes a 944 more fun to drive.

Having driven a lighter S2 (Firehawk 944S2) I agree completely. I was hoping to stay in Production/Stock to try an keep the costs down, but it is obvious the rules committee is OK with effectively killing stock for water pumpers.
I submitted a rules change encouraging a change to help the front engined cars, but the committee must not have deemed it to be a problem. The obvious thing is all the drivers of front engined cars can see it and voted with their feet and $$.

Greg, do you realize that you have the 4th fastest E class lap time at Road America? And actually the 2nd fastest lap time is also in a 944S2?
