Default condition of my front rotors

Sebro slotted rotors, 7k miles.
As you can see there are surface cracks and there is abrasion into the slots.
The rotors still have lots of thickness, but is what you see on the pictures reason for concern?

You should replace them. Best case they will cause excess wear on the pads. You got good use out of them and they owe you no money.

I always carry my take off's as field spares. Hang on to them. Think of yourself as thrifty by not chucking them (I would chuck them)

Besides the cracks, it looks like a pretty good lip there. Those are toast.

Thanks,

the thickness is 32.94 mm, so from this point of view they're right in the middle between good and bad

Measured in the middle or edge?

I would agree they are ready for the scrap bin.

The cracks don't worry me but if there's a lip forming you may need to replace them.

Replace them but retain them as spares. The lip is the worrisome item.

The lip can be removed by having them resurfaced. The only thing I see in the slot is pad material. Have them resurfaced and see if the cracks are still there, sometimes they are just on the very upper surface. Autozone or O'Reily's can resurface them for around $30. If the crazing is still there then I would use them as awning weights.

Hope you don't mind me budding in, as I am equally questioning the status of my front rotors.. They are PFC slotted on a 997.2 GT3..
Any comments would be appreciated.. They have about 25 heat cycles on them..
Thanks

I'm in the same boat, so I'm curious too. My rotors don't quite look like this, but they are getting there. Historically I've run dirt cheap rotors and would just replace them, but these floaters are considerably more expensive.

No lip, but shallow axial surface cracking.

Rob,
Unless the cracks are going to the outside of the rotor or you can put your fingernail in the crack.
tHey should still have life left in them. Have had some guys tell me they have run them until the slot is about to go away. Curious are these 32MM or 34MM thick.

My .02 cents.
Driving on track is about confidence. Anytime I question the condition of my brake pads, rotors, or fluid. I change or bleed. I like to know that the car is going to stop when I need it to. Any doubt causes me to drive less confidently. And for the price to replace these items it's a no brainer. You'll feel better when hitting the brakes at 140mph.
