I'm not defending it. I have never pulled that stunt and agree it's stupid.

The facilities don't really bother me that much (I've gotten used to the bathrooms). And the track is so worth it. I love the drive-through garages.
A repave would be awesome. The sealer really destroys tires and that huge bump in the Carousel gets bigger and bigger each tear.

Funny thing though...on the track walk on Friday, no one could find the bump

Either last year or two years ago (I can't remember), the PCA Stewards had to make an announcement about it at a driver's meeting (because several people had done it). I guess PCA racers are a crafty bunch.
That's the "excuse"... "I was inside on the start and got pinched and had to evade."

I'm just going to sit back and laugh at you guys complaining about surface and facilities at mid o. Come to a track out west some time. Then ee can talk about gross bathrooms and bumpy surface! Lol

I wish Mid O were closer. I loved it! (Even though it was 105 degrees when I was there!)

I love the bump in the carousel. When I hit it I know I got the corner right.
As for the facilities, I've seen worse and that's not why I go.
Over the years, there have been a number of changes to the track surface - some good, some not-so-much. But it continues to be a very challenging and driveable track - and the bumps, cracks and sealed patches just add to the character.

At the Northern Ohio BMW Club Races this past weekend at M-O, they went four-wide through Turn 1 at the start of every race, and it was not unusual to see TWO cars with wheels in the pit-out lane at the same time. Same thing last year. The pit-out lane is considered track surface.

Tom,
I love running with the NNJR group of guys. I did not intend to "slam" NNJR in the slightest. My beef is with the track principals. Bottom line is that they are not reinvesting anything into the track facilities. Coming & going out of the facility is an interesting proposition to say the least as you pick your way through the giant potholes with your truck/trailer.

You know what's funny? We all gripe about track surfaces and facilities...Mid Ohio, down here in Carolinas at CMP and others..All of which are fun to drive "except for the surface" or "except for the run down facilities" etc....but for some reason, Sebring always gets a pass. In every sense of the word, Sebring is a s*&t hole. Track is so rough and so bad it rattles cars apart. And the facilities are not up to par with world class tracks..
and unless you live in Florida, it feels like its a million miles away from anywhere.
But...if anyone suggests paving Sebring, there's an uproar of "No, you can't do that!!!" I just don't get it...with Sebring, the lousy surface adds 'character'...With others, it keeps people from coming back.
Kind of odd really....

I missed the NNJR event this year because I broke an axle going up the esses at WG the weekend before! But I always make the NNJR MO event (and as many others as I can...they run great events). I agree with OP. The facilities are deteriorating on one of the most fun tracks I drive. They should do better, or they will lose some business.
BTW, survived at WG.
