DefaultHello MarcD147.....unfortunately, we won't be doing a Cups & Saucers this year. WGI gave away our 1st week of May dates to some Ferrari event only to offer an undesirable early April dates in exchange. We'll try again in 2022 for our traditional early to mid-May date.

Cancelled. 2022 hopefully has better news for this DE.

It Sucks.

One of my favorite events of the season.

Great people and tons of track time.

Oh well. Plenty of other advanced WGI events this season to do, but the C&S will be missed.

Niagara’s 2 advanced DE’s and NNJR’s advanced DE fit the same Bill if you’re interested.

Average monthly snowfall for April in Watkins Glen is 0.1" Why is early April undesirable?

It can be very cold, and it can rain. I've been there in early May and in 3 days I've had "0" track time. Well, I had rain tires and went out for one session. I was the only one out (standing water) and the flag workers gave me applause on the last lap. It is a great surface with only a few rivers, but I don't like driving in those conditions at 50% with poor visibility and icy rain pouring in the open windows.

Scott-San, bummer to hear the news, but I would have been doubtful with the border situation still unresolved.

Still hoping we'll get together later this year, lots can go right/better between now and then. Hang in there!

And yeah, hope Cups back on the calendar for 2022

Cheers

Matt

As we approach Spring herein the Great Northeast, I can begin to work on trailer "stuff"......and getting the car ready for its Spring checkup........all good........., survived Winter ( lost a shed tho due to snow)....with almost 6' feet of snow, so far. Weather is beginning to turn nicer, warmer, sun is stronger..............soon it will be "gentlemen start your engines"............

So sad, C&S was THE place to get yourself tuned up for the WGI race...to me was the best DE of the year.

Potomac PCA has a 3-day event in the middle of May, 05/14-16. We run a pretty fast pace and welcome others to join in. Registration is on MSR: Potomac PCA WGI Event

Thanks All for asking about the Cups & Saucers event. I’m the president of the hosting region (Hudson Champlain PCA). We had plans of putting on the event this year and we thought we had a 3 yr lock on our normal 1st week of May dates only to find out our dates were given away....without being notified in advance. The person we have worked with at WGI for many years retired.

We are a small region with a small budget and the alternate dates in early-mid April were deemed too big of a financial risk to even break even. In 2019, we broke even just by the skin of our teeth.

Anyway....the supportive words in this thread are much appreciated and we hope to get our May dates back for 2022. We’ll be supporting our fellow PCA regions at WGI this year.

C&S is truly a great event. Tons of seat time...

I understood why the organizers refused the April date. Very hit and miss, weather-wise.

We'll hope for next year...
