Default New Track Car - Headlight Question?

I purchased my first track/DE car (996) last month and I well into the process of getting the car ready for the season. I noticed the right headlight was much dimmer than the left so I took them both out to compare the differences and I found the right light was rigged with a low powered light (see picture below). I am guessing something broke internally and the previous owner just put a socket and bulb that was laying around their shop and wired it up.

I was wondering is there any way to troubleshoot these litronic headlight assemblies to fix them or should I just replace it?

Thanks!

Left headlight much dimmer.

(right light) see brown and white wires cut and spliced into random light

One looks like a halogen bulb. It may be easier to find a whole assy.

It turned out to be a halogen bulb that was rewired to work in the assembly. Just found the inner guts (and ballast) of one of these lights on eBay for $25. Also purchased a new bulb on Amazon for $45.

Hopefully a cheap fix and the brown & white wires are not rewired down the harness and at the switch.
