Look at all the guys in the pits and professional mechanics. I have had pretty much all of them listed at one time or other and this will do ANYTHING you want and will last a long time.

Little over your price range but if you go here you will get $$ off list and usually other products with it or a free extra battery

Honestly I have never seen a handheld tool with soooo much power and that lasts as long as it does. I use it all the time for removing Cupcar centerlock nuts and with the tool street car centerlocks (so over 450 lb ft) without even a sweat. When I originally bought the non-Fuel model it was still far better than the Snap-On and Dewalt tools I had to the point where I gave them away. Now with this, no reason to get anything else.

2+ on the dewalt (yonkhole and i both have the same one). Good bang for buck. I usually loosen the lugs with a breaker bar but not absolutely required, especially if freshly charged battery.

This is what you want. I've had it for a couple of years and it has more than enough power to do multiple tire changes.

Whichever brand you decide on, get one with two batteries so that you are always prepared.

You don't need the "best" for what you want to do. What you would like to have is a reasonably capable wrench with a fairly big lithium ion battery, hopefully, that will fit your other cordless tools. For example, I have a Craftsman C3 wrench with the biggest lithium ion battery. It's torque value isn't that high, but it will do many many wheel removals before it needs a recharge and it does not lose power with use or age like older style batteries. I bought it to fit the battery other C3 tools.

I also own the Craftsman and have used it daily in my shop for 6 years. It will do ring gear bolts (12 bolts and about 50% higher torque settings than lugs) all day long. I recharge it about 1-2 times a week. It's a workhorse for about 2/3 the price of the big name ones mentioned here.

Or you can just get a decent air compressor and you'll never have to charge/change another battery again. No telling how many wheels I could change using a gallon of gas in my generator.

I bought an 80 gallon, 2-stage compressor about 7 years ago. Used to use it constantly. Had air run all through the garage. Now that I have a decent set of 18V Li-ion tools, I almost never use the air. Not having that *&% hose getting in your way is so nice.

I've got a compressor and wouldn't be caught without my air rathet when pulling an engine or other major mechanical job. But for bench work or at the track, I like no hoses and the compact storage of the impact.

If you watch eBay, you can pick up a lightly used Snap On for about $375-$400.

Any of the 18v to 20v impact wrenches will get you what you want. I have a Kobalt I have been happy with, my son has a Dewalt. There are not that many lithium battery manufacturers running around so you can trace most of the tools to one of them.
they will run from 250 to 350, unless you go big time and get snapon but most of us do not require a tool that is in continuous use.
