Default Road America Club Race Rennlisters

I just got the final confirmation of registration for the Labor Day Weekend Races. Included was a list of Club Race entrants.

I saw some names that I recognize from this board.

Who all is attending?

(No DE people were listed)

TIA

Rick,
check http://www.pca-chicago.org/driversed...rac2003-de.php the front page has all the info on DE and club race. Check hotel rooms first, they are going to be damm hard to come by.
You may want to post "Room needed" on Chicago Fourm. Harley Davidson 100th B Day party that week, you may have to stay a few towns over from Elkhart. There is room open for DE as of today. Hope to see you there!

Rick,
We are staying at the Holiday in in Sheboyghan. I think you can book rooms through the HI Priority Club website with no minimum stay. If you don't have a priority club membership let me know and I will book it for you. Only problem is that it is non-cancellable due to the big Harley event.

Eric,
Anir is going now.

Am I reading this list wrong? 40+ cars in a run group? I'd love to come up (even though it may get me a divorce) but I'm a bit concerned about having that many cars in a run group.

How is RA with that many cars in a run group?

I'm debating because there is also a Tracquest event at Mid-Ohio the same weekend and I know that I'll get more track time there than I can tolerate in 2 days.

I'm eager to get out that weekend because the track car should be better equiped at that time - I'm putting on Moton Clubsport shocks, adjustable swaybars, Racer's Edge solid Bushings, Adjustable Camber plates, Forgeline Wheels, Hoosier Tires, etc...

I hope you make it, Rick.

Greg, that's good that no brakes himself will be there. I figure Anir will be in a race car by this time next year.

Rick,
40 is nothing!! Greg and I are going to have 60, Mike gets 62! The track is so big (over 4 miles long) that in a DE, 40 cars seem like 20. This is the grand daddy of club racing. 170+ Racers, 107+ DE. 935's,962's, Greg Fishman's car, Kevin Buckler, live in person, talking about LeMans on Sat night. Huge Concours in the streets of Elkhart with a police escort at full speed from the track to town ect. ect.ect. Mid Ohio???? not even close!

Eric

You left out "the Biggest Turtle Pond" of the season, and the part about the Cabana Girls.

Greg,
Just to make sure I'm pursuing the right hotel...is it the Holiday Inn Express?

SHEBOYGAN-KOHLER(I-43),WI
3823 Germaine Ave., SHEBOYGAN, WI 53081

I can't find a Holiday Inn and the HI Express says they have no availability.

(I'm negotiating...I think this is going to cost a lot of flowers...)

Thanks.

I think us DE'rs got the DE list, Club Racers got Racer list. I agree with Eric... 40 cars is light on RA, lots of looonnnnggg straights allow for lots of unimpeded bliss. It's only a drag if you get caught up in the Carousel and have to wait until after the kink to shoot by. This may be one of the last times to DE the original configuration without the new "kink" modification.

Dave - Is it Canada Corner?? It's an uphill after a right hander...I'm voting for Canada Corner.

...had to dodge a 944T that lost it after cresting the hill, right under the Mitchell bridge, looked like a game of 944 bumper pool was being played...horrible.

RA is HUGE, just amazing and I don't remember how many were in the run group w/me, but there were LOTS!

Eric, you say there is a police escort at FULL SPEED from the track to downtown, is it Sat. evening?? When I was there, I saw nothing of the sort, but it sounds cool!

Is it just the race cars or everyone?? ...sounds like what they do at Watkin's Glenn every year when they run the race cars around the lake and Senaca, etc. - pretty neat.

I stayed at Seibkens, and was disappointed until the I witnessed the nightlife spark up, what a blast...only track event I've ever been at where I was HUNG OVER! I eventually got over it and had a great time the 2nd day.

All this talk about RA is making me jealous!! I'll be at Beaver Run in Pa. that weekend, either running the Toyota or entering the 911 in the GTS Challenge...tough choice as it is a small/tight track, probably a bit more fun in the Yota.

You guys have fun, can't wait to hear the stories that come afterwards.

Watch turn 4, is it?? ...the HARD left hander, where they usually pit the DE sessions, after a good downhill straight? LOTS of carnage there in 2000.

Mike...the "Turtle Pond"??

...and you still haven't enlightened me as to my position on the Hey Wait for Me Racing Team!

Dave -- Just past Turn in for the Billy Mitchell Bridge.

Jeff -- "The Turtle Pond" (remember the logo) is the HWFM Racing Compound in the paddock at every race or DE we attend. It varies in size depoending on the number of team mates attending. Bill in Chicago christened it.

Sorry you won't be able to make it. Perhaps you could be the "Team Absentee Member", or Team Rocket based on your car.
