This similar F1 accident back in 1982 didn't turn out so well. Another era.

Oddly, I remember that incident well and can't believe that more than 32 years have passed since then.

Fairly entertaining race, actually. I like the track configuration, looks like it would be fun to drive.

Start was scary, glad nobody was hurt. Restart procedure also proved problematic.

Did they ever figure out what happened? Was it the clutch? Why the standing start?

Watched the opening carnage and turned it off--better things to do on a beautiful day....like getting the car ready for Mosport this week

Yes, watched the whole race and was looking forward to it. My impression was that the Indy drivers are simply not as good as the F1 drivers on road courses (which is to be expected), but there was a lot more carnage than expected. A seat for Maldonado is waiting at Indy cars

Nearly spit out my drink when Graham Rahal got on the radio to curse Montoya who knocked him out of the race BEFORE the green flag dropped on the restart. Reminded me of when Montoya knocked out Kimi when both were driving for McLaren at that same track about 10 years ago!

The fuel strategy was interesting and something that the fans can actually see and relate to as opposed to the stupid fuel burn limit F1 is employing these days.

The new asphalt is wide, should make for entertaining racing when Tudor shows up with a grid full of sports cars in July.

I'm looking forward to racing there with about 700 of my friends in about four weeks...
