The abysmal level of officiating and the astounding number of truly atrocious calls that result in penalties is embarrassing to our sport.
IMSA/ALMS really need to get their **** together. Daytona. Sebring. 3 strikes and you're out, fools...

Used to be a time when a P2 car would walk a DP, but I digress...

I just don't get it. It's not like this is everyone's first rodeo. WTF is with the officiating? Now there's talk that the winning RSR didn't win? Leh Keen is rightfully fit to be tied. I liken his experience to my erroneous black flag penalty in the 2nd Sprint at this year's 48 because I am just like Leh Keen. It's exactly the same I kid of course but that's amateur club racing ffs not the flippin' 12 Hours of Sebring!
And my GOD the cautions! Jaysus people let's push the cars off and RACE!!!!! Seriously! Again, at this years 48 a car blew up on the front straight and they didn't need an hour to clear it. The caution periods have just grown and grown and grown.
Personally I think the wave around/complete field reshuffle at every caution needs to go away. Take 2 or 3 laps to flat bed the disabled car to the pits and go back to racing right where you left off.

Someone please explain how you justify this. Seemed to recall there was a near catastrophe when a prototype spun at the kink in the 24hrs of Daytona and pulled back on the track right into traffic.

Watched it earlier and all I can say is wow...... Obvious miss when looking to re-enter the track. I've been in similar situations and always delayed re-entering until I could confirm the cost was clear. Perhaps he was told over the radio it was clear? It could have been more disastrous than it was.
