LOL,

Assuming this is not a troll, -do some driving clinics. skip barber or bondurant.

a wink mirror is what you want, or the longacre clip on types. but they distort distance.

the little round convex mirrors on the outside mirrors too.

-that and drive a big honking car.

Its the tonnage rule. very few idiots pull out or chop a big suv or truck. nra stickers don't hurt either.

I found this out when we had a hurricane and there were no traffic lights anywhere for a week, and it was a Cuban standoff at each intersection. everyone waited for me at the intersections and I only drove a expedition. ( I wasn't even, open carrying)

She was so tentative in traffic that she hated driving and caused more problems for other drivers. Although I was already doing plenty of DE's I suggested the two of us take this class together http://www.wmc-bmwcca.org/adss.html . She started the day scared and left the event confident in herself and her car. A week later a moron nearly rear-ended us on the highway and she had the presence of mind to check her mirrors, realize he was going to hit us, and accelerate into the breakdown lane to avoid the collision. It's all about confidence...

PS--Idiots weaving in and out of traffic in LA aren't "more skilled" than you. They're just too stupid to realize the danger they're putting themselves and others in.
Thanks. I will do that. I got a quote for one "drivers ed" one - but you are right I need to search for advanced driving skills.

Again, thank-you.

Well, I drive a Honda fit, so I'm not going to meet the tonnage requirement. I already bought one rearview mirror not a great one. Will consider the one you sent. Does that really have 180 degree vision? I wonder about the claims of some of these mirrors.

I also already bought the convex ones.

Thank-you!

Buy an older F250, close your eyes and go. You don't need no stinkin mirrors.

a Honda fit, (oh Nooooooo!)
that just a little bigger than a smart car right?

you'll need some guns and ammo my friend.

or beat in all the corners with a hammer, cut off very expensive cars. they will give you room.

seriously the wink is the way to go, I installed a 3 panel over a stock mirror for a gf that needed all the help she can get.

the longacre is good on the track, but pretty convex. not good for the street IMHO.

my quick search didn't get hits on the wink 3 panel... it was a clip on. maybe you can still find one.

otherwise go 4 or 5 panel. its what taxis often use.

Haha - yeah. It's not a big car. That is one BIG mirror. How do you use your sun visor? Remember, it's sunny down here in San Diego

This may be useful for lane-splitting in LA traffic...

Forget the mirrors 95% of the time. Drive faster and pick your position (spot, hole) in the other lane ahead of you instead of waiting for it to appear from behind you. Look ahead and anticipate the other cars' (stupid) moves as you approach them from behind. As with much else in life, be proactive, not reactive. Act predictably and without hesitation. Much smoother and less stressful.

Sure, driving schools, better mirrors, bigger trucks - all good ideas, but I'd go back to Raul Julia's quote from the Gumball Rally - "And now my friend, the first rule of Italian Driving - what's behind me is not important."
