David Murray at VIR - pics of new paving

David Murray just sent these, I may try and hit VIR this year!

"After that we move north following the good weather to VIR April 8-9. VIR has widened and paved the entire track and paddock. Here are few photos of it in the process. We should be the first group on the newly paved facility with the exception of the VIR member days. It is spectacular!"

Irene and I are going to the April event. Funny thing as I just got off phone with VIR to book our lodging. LOVE VIR, I just wish it was closer.

It looks like that paver just cleared the bridge!

I still didn't see pictures of the paved paddock so I remain skeptical about that until I see it....:0)

It's already done. Nice!

Pedro look again. Paddock pic is in there. You can see white garage doors in background

The surface is awesome. Turns 3, 11 and Oak Tree quicker because wider entry can be taken. The data will show it...

Paver is behind it. That's a material transfer machine which allows the trucks to dump load of asphalt into its hopper and get the hell out of the way. Keeps the material going to the paver much more uniform as opposed to the truck dumping it into the paver hopper.

I have a feeling the VIR PCA race is going to be big this year! I'm making the journey for the 1st time.

Is the plan to still have 2 PCA race groups along with 2 BMW groups?

Think about coming east with that number Jack

Just did David Murry before the PCA 48 Hours at Sebring. David Murry is best non-racing track event ever. Open track all day long. No silly run groups.
Looking forward to David Murry at the new VIR.

Man! That exit to turn 4 looks like it's going to add several mph (if they move the curb?). Turn 4 and southbend are my two favorite corners there.

I'm guessing 4 - 5 seconds faster than old VIR once that pavement rubbers in.

They did not move the curb...

I'd say 1-1.5...
