I'm just glad Leh's yellow didn't spoil it for the RSR boys. Bit of nail biter at the end.

Nice to see the Mezger put another notch in its block…..
So is the RSR running the old Mezger or the new 9A1 direct injection motor?

Already is. You just have to hand over a cool €800000, then it's yours to play with...
Might have to take a number. Falklen is still waiting for their delivery.

Porsche Motorsports has lost its way, and further will never be competitive until it abandons the rear engine design.

Wait, who won?

Indeed. But at the end of the day competitiveness is manipulated by the governing body. A little more balast here, a little less air restrictor there, and presto chango a new fastest car. At least in 24hr race durability and strategy still play a big role.

Did GM really follow up the rear in the C7.R? Not a great debut.

I have to say, in person, the RSR is a bad *** looking car!
Some pictures I took from my iPhone...

So 50% of the RSRs on the factory team with the classic Mezger engines blew up. Those Mezger engines are never going to make it in endurance racing. Of course, I jest, and there were lots of other RSRs and Cups which didn't blow up, but I am curious as to what caused the engine failure.

Did Dr. Walliser just say Godot is coming, in the GT3-R?

"The car, which began testing last summer, underwent a major engine change with the adoption of a new four-liter flat-six that’s now direct-injected and features a new crank housing.

Walliser feels it was the right direction to take, particularly with the car being built for its large customer base.

“It was a late decision in the project but I think the right decision because we are now close to the street car,” he said. “We have to also look at run time costs for our customers, so we have a production-based engine as the old engine was running out, that was well known.”
