Power versus manual steering

The swap on the 964 cars is simply removing the engine mounted pump and replacing it with an electric power steering pump of some type. We've used 996 RS & 997 Cup pumps, I believe Chris Cervelli used a Mini Cooper pump in hise 993RSR.

I thought about the power vs. manual steering thing on my 951 and rebuilt my rack. I never thought I lost much "feel" and my dad's 930 is a real pain in the *** to drive. So much so that now that my parents 65+, they barely drive the car even in Florida. It is a real MF in tight spaces and parking lots to be honest.

Thanks for the plug J Richard.
I think it will eventually find a buyer who is looking to make an RS/RSR clone or a backdate on a newer chassis and use it with street tires.
Either way it is still available should anyone find this thread before my FS post. Will come off my RSA as soon as it sells or this spring when I convert to electrohydraulic power steering before the 2014 season starts here in New England.
