Default $75 off 4 Nittos

For anyone that runs Nitto NT01, Discount Tire has a $75 Visa card rebate if you buy four tires.

I had ordered some last week and they still gave it to me.

Just passing on the good deal.

Where did you see this? I'm not seeing it on the Discount Tire website. I bought four NT-05s about two weeks ago.

Thanks

I got an email today. It's also listed bottom left of the website under "Up to $100 Visa...." Give them a call and see if they can help you out.

Thanks for trying. I bought 4 tires a couple weeks ago and they would not honor the rebate. Need to find another tire store, as lately this one has upped prices too.

I am already saving 75 USD when going to another place to install four tires. There is nothing "discount" about them except for the flashy name.

I see you are in Houston, where do you go?

I don't consider their tire mounting Discount, as they are charging $80 to mount a set. Not a discount rate IMO. Used to have a guy who did it for $70 who was fantastic, but he sold his shop because the land value was so high and somebody gave him an offer he couldn't refuse. The guy was nearly downtown, and I drove in from the 'burbs - he was that good.

Last time, they charged me 80 bucks for two 18" wheels (and lost my business for ever). I now go to a place that I have been before and I like how it is run by the owner Kurt:

http://www.ccsnorthsidemotors.com/

I have seen plenty of track cars prior to COTA DE that he worked on when I waited for my tire installation. I am rather supporting a place like this than a national chain.

No way man! Small world. I know Curt back from the Track Time Performance days. He did the original alignment that I've been maintaining on the BMW. Great guy, great shop, only it is a very long way from my house. I'd be using him if he was close. About 1/2 the receipts I got with my car from the PO are from C&C. I still have a "Track-Time Performance" decal on the top of my windshield.

I also solicited by local track buddies for recommendations and it turns out there is a another Discount Tire nearby that appreciates the business of track guys and the shop help is highly rated by people I know. (ETA: Apparently the character of a particular Discount Tire location is highly dependent on its management.)

I've been hemming and hawing about changing places because the shop guys at the location I was using were good and appreciated tips. This morning was the last straw.

Can't wait to get to TWS next month. See you there.

We don't have any of their stores up this way, so it's just ordering for me. I also have a friend with a tire machine and a balancer, so it doesn't cost me to mount tires.

For people that complain about having 18" 40 series tires mounted, watch how hard it is and how long it takes. Then factor in how much you'll complain if they leave any sort of mark on your wheel and you'll see why they charge so much. Not to mention the $5k plus tire machine to do it.

Is there a cheaper place to order Nittos from (incl shipping)?

(Mounting is a separate subject and locally dependent.)

I order from Tirebuyer.com, shipping was included in the price.
It is usually cheaper for me, except when someone does a rebate.

Thx, good to know. They seem to be out of stock on many of the sizes though.

Discounttire also has an ebay store. Right now prices are 10% off. That could save one more than $75 depending on the sizes needed.

For example:
ebay - 235/40-18 + 315/30-18 = $1024.20
web - 235/40-18 + 315/30-18 = $1104 - $75 rebate = $1029

$4.80 savings. Not much; gal of gas. Plus one doesn't have to wait on the rebate to arrive.
