Yes, that is a Miata stretch tow vehicle with two V8 motors.

The longer wheelbase helps with stability at higher speeds.

Not asking why but rather how? isn't the back engine in the way of the front engine? IE how does the front engine connect to the wheels? maybe it's simply bolted to the front of the rear so you get a kind of tandem 16 OR Maybe it's the generator for when he's camping!!!!

The tractor pull things have an output shaft connect to the front of the crank of the engine behind it.
